YAYOI KUSAMA

Her Eternal Life

I have no idea when was the first time I saw Kusama's works.

They were unbelievable emotional and direct, I stood in front of her masterpiece, being stunned by the methods and ways of expression that she had created, soon after, I became one of her fans. Sometimes we don't need to do something amazing to be happy. I started to collect her works. Some of them are very small, however, they always give me strength to keep my life up, and remind me the way Kusama expresses her joy, sorrow, and pleasure in life.

FORTUNATELY, I got a chance to fly to Tokyo to see Kusama's collection in this February. As a Japanese female artist, her unique polka-dot design has riveted people's attention.

I am overwhelmed by the stories behind her works such as the Ladder to Heaven, Fireflies on the Water, and Infinity Net. While her style is forever changing from the beginning until now, the power of her struggle and happiness hasn't changed at all.

I walked through a path with many lights and mirrored walls, allowing me to be immersed in a breathtaking fantastic world. I started to put my entire body being showered in the dazzling light, and try to depict a wish for my happiness, which should be the only one who can tell the story the way only I would.
